Masuuni

Projection MappingLight ArtFestivalHeritage

In 1561, Finland's first ironworks was founded at Mustio (Svartå). More than four and a half centuries later, Masuuni — Finnish for blast furnace — brought that industrial past back to the same grounds, on the façade of Mustio Manor.

Created as the main artwork of the first Metronom festival in September 2022, the projection turned the manor's neoclassical front into a furnace of light: the building's own lines redrawn and dismantled, and its walls flooded with the glowing reds and oranges of molten iron.

Metronom, organised by Raaseporin tapahtumat (Rata) in the castle park of Mustio, combines light and video art with electronic music.
